testing with children #2 - Day Two

Thursday, August 23, 2007

I took it slow today, so it's more enjoyable for the kids and less stressful for me. Unfortunately then, I did fewer kids than I could. Just FOUR. (T^T)

Anyway.. the four kids today

#1-Girl. Hmm..I suddenly realized I always can't remember details about my first participant... Nande? But, she is another extremely sweet little girl too! :)

#2-Boy. Hehe, he's cute. Once he sat down, he farted twice, like a long sms ringtone. Lol. Well, it's either he farted, or it's his stomach. Either way, he looked quite embarrassed and was squirming around on his seat, so I just pretended I didn't hear anything. But for a while, I was worrying in my head whether should I ask him does he want to go to the toilet? Heheh, won't be nice if some accident happen.. Bleh. His father is from Sg, so hearing that, I exclaimed, "Oh, i'm from SG too!", <-- the 'too' in general mah.. but immediately, the little boy just had to clarify, "No, I'm from Perth, only my father from SG." *stares* *speechless me* Ok ok, I get it... Then while doing the stories task, he just have to strip "Gaga" of his collar, leaving him "naked" (as he phrased) or wrapping the collar around his tail, his head (like Rambo), his snout... ^^;;

#3-Boy. A good-looking storyteller. He started our conversation with "My nana (grandma) died on my sister's birthday." -_-;; Errr.... okay..... (quickly attempted to change topic) but anyway, during the 1 hr and 5 min we were together, yesh, that how long I took with him, we talked, or rather HE told me about his nana's orgin; counted 1-10 in italian for me; how he like to catch jellyfish (aren't they poisonous?!?!); have a whole shelf of them in jars at home, how he had to prevent his cat from breaking the jars; how his cat broke a jar this morning, so the jellyfish come alive again, then he has to put a stone on it; told me about his favourite video games; what did he at each level; what happened if he didn't get past a level; how he like to play paintballs; how he always win at paintball; how his sister beat him at paintballs one time; what are the colours he like, why he like the colour gold; why he like the gold power ranger; about teenage mutant ninja turtles, the jokes from teenage ninja turtles -- and becuase I think I can spend up to 45 minutes retelling what he told me, I just summarized the topics that he mentioned. Lol.

#4-Boy. The last little boy was very serious and focused in doing the tasks. Unfortunately, he was too serious.. so he took very long time to think at each question. *major sweats* But I felt a little bad for him, cos' I was timing to end before a specific time so that I could get back to Uni in time, so I didn't really interact with him much. Save time, quick quick, pack up and go. Sorry J~
